Osayaba Enobakhare’s heritage is from the ancient Edo (Benin) Kingdom of West Africa. Her married name is Adadevoh; therefore, some of her books are under Anthonia Osa Adadevoh. Along with her Masters in English and a Doctorate in Humanities, she also has a Masters in Fine Arts in creative writing.

Although she writes both fiction and non-fiction adult books, inspired by her children and grandchildren, she especially enjoys writing and illustrating children’s books. Many of her children’s books draw extensively from the history of the Ancient Edo Kingdom of Nigeria.

Her spoken Edo language was acquired through family and environment. Her early childhood western education did not include learning to read and write the Edo language. Her determination to learn to read Edo language led to her using English phonetic sounds to read and write the language. Professor Anthonia Adadevoh is the  Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs in a university college in the  United States.
